Professional Joy of Playing Music

The performers joined their professional knowledge with the joy of playing music - the two components which, happily joined, bore excellent fruits. We could take part in catching enthusiasm with which they set to pretentious scores and admire the ensemble's respect for the texts which were perfectly polished.

A Pleasing Trio

The young musicians used well their good school and their playing revealed spontaneous self-confidence . The interpretations of the suite records by Darius Milhaud and Igor Stravinsky (A Soldier´s Tale) were musically wonderfully living and mature at the same time and therefore exact ensemble masterpieces. For Milhaud I would dare to say that I cannot remember such a vital and genuine position of his nowadays rather neglected opus. In the voices of Trio Mefisto it sounded almost unexpectedly natural and charming.

The Devilish Trio

Rarely have I enjoyed a concert so much as in the November evening in Studio 14 of our national Broadcasting house after the Mefisto group had come smiling on the stage. They beamed out serenity and that strained attention before the appearance which promise good playing. And it happened, in fact... Trio Mefisto is really a devilish trio.

"Ready-witted" Story of a Soldier - the Culmination of the Evening

Effective with the audience, the composition demands not only a symmetrical concentration of all the five programmme parts but also a performing power built up into details. They were the culmination of the evening. The musically rectilineal Story of Soldier was, instrumentally, compactly presented in five small episodes of the poem and created, owing to a great involvement and enthusiasm of the performers, a conspicuous effect on the audience which rewarded them with great enthusiasm.

It was a pleasure to have ˝the Mefistos˝ araund! Their playing is great and the audiences in Izrael loved them. And on the top of it all- they are such lovely young people. Really, it was a great succsess !
